I'm an Official Health Coach

Posted on January 31, 2012
I graduated from my health coaching program and could not be happier for this journey.  I’ve learned that healthy eating extends beyond eating boneless skinless chicken breast and whole wheat bread.  I’ve learned that believing in yourself is 90% of the effort it takes to accomplish your goals.  And that I was putting too much faith in government and marketing; and giving up too much personal responsibility to doctors, the FDA and lets not forget the USDA.  My most valuable lesson though is to have confidence in me.  Now I can type until my fingers are numb about the benefits of food for nutrition and rant even longer about how the goverment and corporations are trying to do us all in; but time is short so I will elaborate only on the most important lesson to believe in myself.

If you know me you probably would probably wouldn't say that I didn’t have confidence.  The thing is I did have confidence but by subject matter.  The confidence I have now is in me.  Not in what I know or what I do or have done but in who I am.  It is an understanding that my thoughts, feelings and story will resonate with someone that I am meant to connect with and that nothing is required of me to make that connection.  Our service, support, and connection to others give our lives meaning.  I have gained energy from letting go of the worry that I don’t know enough or am not good enough and am thankful to serve and support my friends, family and community.  It is in service that I am most happy and that has always been true.
